Cognos NoticeCast proactively delivers business intelligence to users—based on criteria they define—as events happen. It delivers this time-critical information to decision makers through automatic email-messages. You can send emails to desktops or wireless devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) or digital cell phones.
In this way, Cognos NoticeCast keeps people continuously informed of critical events, whether in-office or mobile. Users define the personalized content they want pushed to them as soon as an event occurs. They define what relevant material should accompany the notification or alert, and who else in the company should be automatically informed.

Flexible event detection. Cognos NoticeCast allows business users to define personal agents, each of which tracks an event the user deems important, and informs the user via email when the event has occurred. Messages can contain contextual information and embedded links to help the user make a decision

Monitor Notification Events—the delivery of important reports, OLAP cubes or queries; Performance Events—alert users when performance measures or metrics cross defined thresholds; Operational Events—monitor specific operational transactions, including cross-system or multi-database transactions.
Dynamic scheduling and delivery. Cognos NoticeCast adapts alert delivery, as you may know the right recipient only when the event occurs. Delivery timing determines the recipient address to use for different times or days, ensuring the right person receives messages at work, at home, or on the road.
