New dynamic, multi-object reports. Create reports containing any number of report objects—charts, cross tabs, and lists—as well as non-BI components such as images, logos, and live embedded applications that can be linked to the information. Queries can draw data from any database or a combination of databases and be linked together or left as independent.
Multilingual, out-of-the-box. The user interface supports English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, and Italian. Report content can be delivered in more than 25 languages.
Completely Web-based. Built on Web services technologies, Report Studio can be easily integrated with any application or environment.
Proven scalability. In deployments ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 named users, Report Studio delivered average report view times of less then 2.5 seconds. In production reporting tests, Report Studio yielded 78 pages per second—6.7 million report pages per day.
Flexible report presentation. Users can arrange report objects on the page simply by dragging and dropping them into the report authoring window. The adaptive report authoring environment automatically arranges report objects in the window each time one is added or removed.
Integrated with Cognos BI. Cognos Report Studio is tightly integrated with the other Cognos BI components. You can embed Web applications and Cognos dashboards, charts and maps in its reports. Cognos NoticeCast alerts can include hyperlinks to Cognos reports.
